Wedding day is one of the most important days in our lives and the last thing we want is for something to go wrong. There are many traditional rules as to what you should or shouldn’t do, and as many new rules saying the opposite, we have decided to keep it simple and give you a short list of things we think are definite must DOs.
Heart to heart
Give your fiancé(e) a sentimental gift on the morning of the wedding. In case you don’t see them before the ceremony, arrange to have it sent to them. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, it can be as simple as a tender love note saying how much you love them and that you can’t wait to get married.
Heart-warming gift can be a love poem, a cute trinket that only they will understand, or even a dried little flower from the first day you went on a date. If you ever have thought that much in advance, of course.
Self care and peaceful mind
Do not get anxious with all the people surrounding you on the wedding day. It is essential to take good care of yourself and not get overwhelmed. Get a good night’s sleep. Turn your phone off, there’s nothing more important going on that day. If you get nervous, take a few moments to breathe deeply, find a quiet spot to meditate and relax. Prepare some relaxation techniques in advance, they are a true life-saver if the anxiety occurs.
Till death do us part
You wedding photos and videos will be the only lasting mementos of your wedding day so make sure you do them the right way. Hiring good professionals whose work you like and talking to them about what you expect, will secure these moments forever. Give them some ideas of what you imagine your eternal love pictures should look like and work as a team.
Dedicate enough time for the photo sessions and take them seriously as you will look at these for the rest of your lives and show them to your grandchildren. Be spontaneous, enjoy being in the spotlight, and let love show.
Express gratitude
No matter how many people attend your wedding or how close you are with them, you should find a way to express your gratitude that they’ve come to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter with you. Ideally, you would have time to thank everyone personally, but weddings are often hectic and pass much more quickly than you can even imagine.
Prepare special welcome baskets for out-of-town guests including maps, refreshments, fruit and thank you notes, you could include a note of gratitude in your wedding programs or make a thank you speech at the ceremony.
Dance, sing, laugh and have fun
Try to spend some time with people who matter most, like your parents, siblings and best friends. This is a big day for them too, acknowledge their emotions, their love and pride. Last but not least, keep in mind you and your new spouse is what it is all about so find a way to spend a few quiet minutes with each other. Dance, sing, laugh and have fun! Enjoy yourself and help others do the same by being a good example. Enjoy every moment of it!
Congrats!
