There’s a lot that can go wrong on your wedding day. There might be a cancellation, or the priest could fall ill. Your groom may not show up, and the dress might get damaged. Perhaps the food didn’t arrive and instead, you had to serve mini quiches that you found in the bottom of your freezer. If you want to avoid these types of issues, and you certainly do, take our advice and start planning your wedding day the right way. With the right steps taken and forward-thinking planning, you can avoid all the issues some people encounter on this special day.
No Bachelor Party?
We’re not sure that we’d go as far to say that you should avoid holding a bachelor party or hen night completely. But gone are the days where it’s a good idea to hold to tradition and have it the night before the wedding. If you do this, you’re just opening yourself up to the possibility of disaster. You don’t want you or your partner to be hungover on the day of your wedding. You certainly don’t want images of a sordid evening flashing through your mind as you say I do. Hold your parties a few weeks before and get all the mishaps out of the way long before the wedding.
Hire Your Transportation Early
You’ll need transportation to get to the wedding. It’s particularly important that you book a vehicle for the bride to arrive in. You might rent a horse and carriage or use a limo hire service. It’s entirely your choice. Remember, you can use the same service to wait after the wedding and take you away on your honeymoon. We’ll talk more about the honeymoon a little further down. Don’t forget to book your transportation early. These are the things that start to decrease in availability as the wedding season nears.
Remember Your Diet
As soon as you start planning your wedding, you should go on a diet. We know that girls in particular will have a size of dress that they want to fit into on their wedding day. They’ll only manage it if they diet early and keep it up until they get married. On your wedding you’ll hire a stylist to make you look like a princess. But a dress will only look perfect if you’re the right size to fit into it.
Back Up Plans
As we said, there are lots of things that can go wrong when planning a wedding. You might find that your venue was double booked or that someone you need can no longer attend. That’s why it’s a good idea to have a backup plan standing by. If anything does go wrong, this way you can still make sure your wedding goes off without a hitch.
Honeymoon Postponed
Finally, it might seem romantic to ride off into the sunset towards your honeymoon after your wedding. But really, you’re just squeezing two big costs together. If you want to avoid extra stress, book your honeymoon for a short while after your wedding. That way you’ll have something to look forward to after the big day is over.
