It’s the most amazing day of your life. Well…it should be. In 99% of cases, your wedding day is a joyous occasion that is celebrated by all. Unfortunately, we all get to hear about that 1% where things just don’t go as planned. There are no do-overs here. If it goes wrong, you’re going to live with it for the rest of your life.
Wardrobe Issues!
All sorts of things can go wrong with your choice of attire on the big day. It doesn’t take a lot to find yourself with stains on your expensive dress. Similarly, a long jacket can easily get ripped or caught, and the damage could be irreversible. In order to prepare for this, you need a few backup solutions. Make sure you’re doing a test run to ensure you can wear these outfits without being in pain, too!
Not Hiring A Photographer
You come to the wedding day, and you think, “I don’t need a photographer”. Then, you watch as amateurs take the photos, and you’re left with a bunch of blurry and messy images of your big day. As I said before, there are no do-overs here! It costs money, but you need a good photographer. If you don’t know where to find one, look at the 100 top wedding photographers and take your pick! It’s totally worth the cost.
Bad Entertainment Choices
The wedding’s over, all you want to do is relax, and your night is spoiled by bad entertainment. You’ve got a comedian who doesn’t know when to quit or a band that sounds totally out of tune. Maybe you hired the local cheap DJ as a last-minute alternative? You should put a lot of thought into your entertainment choices. Get something that is suitable for everyone in order to keep them happy.
Arranging It During A Special Occasion
Did you hear about the recent story of a Wales soccer player’s brother’s wedding? Their wedding was arranged to take place during the middle of the European Championship soccer tournament. Wales did the unthinkable and got to the semi-final, and so, nearly the entire family missed the wedding. Let this be a lesson to you: don’t arrange a wedding during a special occasion!
Ruining The Cake!
What is it about the wedding cake? The internet is riddled with stories about cakes that have melted, fallen over and generally caused havoc all around. It wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t spend so much money on them! Be careful about where you store it during the day, and talk to your baker if you have any concerns.
Bad Weather
You can never predict the weather when you plan to hold a wedding. The one thing you can do, though, is plan around it. If you’re going to hold the wedding outside, you need a backup plan in case things take a turn for the worst. Ideally, you’ll hire a local venue as a second choice if you’ve got the funds available. At the very least, make sure your guests are sheltered from the rain if it decides to strike during your ceremony.
